Valentine's Day is National Condom Day!

Valentine's Day (February 14) is National Condom Day! (which is perfect due to 'overly abundance/showing' of love on this day).

Have this day be a reminder to practice safe sex.

Guess what? There is now a new app that will point you in the nearest direction of free condoms in the 5 boroughs of NYC. The free condom app was released by the NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene.
According to the NYC Dept. of Health, "New Yorkers will find that no matter where they are, they can always be protected from sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, and unintended pregnancy."

Male latex condoms serve as a dual purpose, meaning that they they prevent against pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. In fact, condoms are the only contraceptive method that reduces the risk of all sexually transmitted infections/diseases (STIs/ STDs), including HIV. According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, male latex condoms protect against a wide variety of diseases/infections only if the infected areas are protected by the condom. These include:
  • Gonorrhea
  • Chlamydia
  • Trichomoniasis
  • Genital herpes
  • Chancroid
  • Human Papillomavirus Virus (HPV) etc.

Happy Valentine's Day!

An Icy Update!

Hello Lovely people,

Ohio is covered in ice/snow/sleet this morning. I mean the road are covered with about a quarter of an inch of ice, making driving and walking extremely dangerous. For this reason classes have been canceled  for 2 days now. The freezing rain and now snowfall is not helping matters at this point. Moreover, the present weather in Ohio is the same and maybe even worse in other states like New York, Indiana, Chicago, Pennsylvania etc. You can learn more about these freezing temperatures here.

Despite the weather, I am enjoying my day off, which gives me more time to complete assignments...the joys of a graduate student.

Stay warm!
